IIEE-CPUSC Induction Party last Night

last night can be considered as one of the special nights. it was the induction party of iiee-cpusc in which i am the new vice-president for internal affairs(VP-Internal). the event can be describe in many adjectives but to sum them all, wonderful. we had a great fun althroughout the program and we enjoyed every second that we have last night.

just like the story of cinderella, i was only limited for a couple of hours to be in a formal attire. i wore my suit for the first time and it felt so nice and professional, in general. i really intend to wear it because i want to look myself to a higher level of professionalism. and everyone was also in that formal image last night. it was a gathering of professionals. Present during the program were some EE dept faculty and a couple of invited guests.

the 3rd year EE students experienced for the first time how it feels being a part of the EE family as they were inducted together with some shiftees (from other courses to EE) . they had brought with them their lovely and beautiful partners which added spice to the night. it was also a romantic night for them. i somehow regret of having no partner for this night. as i interviewed them on what can they say about their induction, they were speechless and only managed to show two thumbs up. they were definitely tired after the ceremony because they have made so many preparations for this party.

well, for us the 4th year studs, we just managed to occupy one round table and sat together and take the night without partners.

before separating, we have seen a powerpoint presentation showing some of the wonderful memories of being in the EE dept, joining in the outreach activity, and enjoying our normal school days in cpu.

to end the story of last night's party, i can say that it was not a happy night...but perhaps one of the best and happiest nights we had experienced in our lives...Thank You God!

back to school

oh it's another semester to open up this time around...and what a good way to start the semester right is going to school early morning. but i found out that there's no class, classes will resume tomorrow because of the nursing board exam held in school. i thought it was a good start for the semester. definitely i am excited to see my old classmates and friends here in school though some of them have new looks but some still managed to be contented of their classic forms.:)

i am sure that this semester will be a tough one especially now that im nearing the majoring subjects of EE. complicated subjects and tough teachers are the common things i can hear from my older friends who try to advise to be more observant and diligent in studies. i have enough rest during my summer and now i am ready to conquer the challenges this time around.

i believe that only courage and perseverance will take you to finish this course.

i am determine to graduate on this course at the proper time.:)

an exam week that was....

i had a very great or shall we say just busy week for me..firstly, we had our prefinal exams from wednesday to friday...and the exams were somewhat complicated since the finals is fast approaching. all the topics were hurriedly discussed then go exam! hay, i wonder what will be my score in my exams. i hope i could eventually pass them.

also, today is saturday. we just had our QUEST (quality engineering semestral test) for the professional subjects. this exam is not that complicated as compared to regular major exams because this quest is a refresher exam for students in preparation for future board exams. 5% of your average in this test will be added to your final grade in every engg subject you have enrolled in for this semester. though it's a small portion of the grade but it will be of great help if you are in danger of failing situation.

i have another exam scheduled on monday, it's our prefinal exam on thermodynamics. it more on memorizing the numerical values of the significant pressures and temperatures including the general properties of air and water vapor. my teacher said that once you memorized these values, solving process problems will be easier.

very february!

very february!

i have so many things to accomplish for this month alone.

i've got some group laboratory reports to finish and have them ready for evaluation. although it's a group work, i seem to be the only one doing and initiating the works.

also, i have also extra works for the EE org. on wednesday, there will be an exhibit for all the orgs in the campus. last year we garnered 2nd place in the over-all. so we're pressured to make better this year's evaluation. in the name of the organization, i will donate my precious blood to Red Cross. that's true. i will join the blood letting of the university. in fact, this activity is a big part for the incoming evaluation of orgs.

then, two of my teachers have not given us our midterm exams though the exam dates were scheduled last week. im not sure when will the schedule the exam.

as you can see, my last blog was jan20. and i just sneak out of the cafe to check my inbox and decided to post one blog.

my thermodynamics teacher

i have my class in ME 30, Thermodynamics this semester. i have been a regular student since 1st year of college. upon seeing the list of subjects offered for this semester, i was surprised but not really upon seeing my class schedule for this semester. at first i was really expecting two mechanical engg subj for this sem. and it was true. i have now mech 7 which is mechanics of fluids and the other is ME30, the thermodynamics. added to the surprise was when i found out that my thermo teacher is engr. gange. oh! i must be very careful with this one. as what i have heard from higher years who were under him in this same subject, he is very strict and firm in his class. everything must be proper.

in our first meeting, i was so silent only observing the actions and the words being spoken. i can sense that he is not a typical engg teacher as compared to all the teachers i have been under to.

as class days go on i have observed that he is very careful and slow in his words and actions. he seemed to be unprepared sometimes for his lessons. he used to enter in his class without bringing any stuff except for a whiteboard marker. the eraser, well students' newsprints or scratch papers...he points out students to work on the board and/or erase the writings. and then he gives additional points to them...

now that i'm halfway through, i can sense the need to really love his subj in order to understand his lessons and eventually pass the subj. the lesson may be simple but it requires extensive reading and understanding in order to inculcate it in your mind.

he had once written an ilonggo aphorism and kept repeating it on class. "bisan ang bundol nga tawo kung naga-hanas sng matuod, maga-abtik" ...its thought is about having a constant correct practice.

with his reserved ideas, i was convinced to like his subject Thermodynamics.

quote for the day

only when we cut all the trees in the forest, fished all our seas, pollute all the soil and rivers, and destroy all our coral reefs, will we realize that we can't eat money!

prelim exam in fluid mechanics

Happy new year to everyone! what a bad for me today, friday. although i woke up early this morning and went to school, still i couldn't make the best of my day because of my prelim exam in mech 7(mechanics of fluids). it was an unexpected exam since i have reviewed only last night...just for 30 mins.:). i didn't have a thorough review on the topics presented. for sure i'll get a low score in that exam. tomorrow is saturday. i have so many unfinished tasks to be done. i've got lab reports to finish and other household chores to do. happy weekend for me! i had already mentioned that i have bought an organizer berfore new year, jan1. right now, i am focusing on writing my day-to-day experiences on it. i just got the chance to surf the net today because the engg had just opeened its cyber library so i have free hours here and so i decided to blog today. but eventually, i will seldom post new blogs here because i have my own already with my organizer.
